Celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the first Chinese Catholic Parish in the Archdiocese of Toronto will be held on Sunday of Ascension of the Lord, May 28, 2017. His Eminence Cardinal Thomas Collins will celebrate the 11am Mass (Cantonese/Mandarin/English) with our Pastor Fr. Peter Chin and other priests. “Our Lady’s Bread” will be blessed. This 150th Anniversary celebration of the church coincides with Canada’s 150th Anniversary celebration.

After Mass, the 5th Annual Toronto Chinatown Marian Procession will then proceed from our Church. The Statue of Our Lady will be crowned with a flower garland. The commissioning and blessing of the Knights of Our Lady will be conducted. The theme of the procession is “Mary, Mother of God, Golden Jubilee Marian Procession”. This is an excellent evangelization event. Fountain of Love and Life, Knights of Columbus, the Toronto Chinese Catholic Task-force, all parishioners and other church groups will join in this event.

The procession will return to the Church at 2:00pm, followed by Benediction, then the 2:30pm Mass celebration (Mandarin/English) will be held. Mr. Simon Chang, Mr. Robin Tham and OLMC pioneer parishioners will hold a seminar in our Parish Hall.

A celebration dinner with entertainment and lion dance performance will be held at the Dim Sum King Chinese Restaurant (421 Dundas St. West). Tickets are $35.00 for adults and $30.00 for children.
