Visiting a Homeless Shelter: An eye opening experience (3)

On this week's "Love and Life", Po-Yee, Keith and Karen continue to share with us their experience of visiting the Good Shepherd homeless shelter. They come to realise that every homeless person has their own story, and a judgement at face-value cannot truly allow us to understand this. Not every person has received love and care in their life, and these young people come to realise how blessed they are through this visiting experience.

They come to understand that true love and care can restore the dignity of the homeless, and in the process of serving, they realize that the true meaning of volunteering work doesn't come from the significance of the work being done, but from a spirit of humility and serving to the best of one's ability, even for menial tasks. This is the true display of love.

On this week's "Love and Life", several young people come on the show to share with us their experience of visiting a Catholic homeless shelter as volunteers. From this visit, they were able to truly understand the needs and operations of the shelter, and begin to change their views of the shelter as well as the homeless people that they serve. In addition, they also learn the true spirit of service.
