Spiritual Talk – 16th Sunday of Ordinary Time (Year B)

On the 16th Sunday of Ordinary Time (Year B), Fr. Anthony Ho explains to us the story of Jesus having pity on the crowds which moved him to continue preaching to them in the Gospel of Mark. In our busy lives we often easily forget the need for a time to rest and pray. We must take the time to remain close to God, to allow the Holy Spirit to refill and renew our lives. Despite this, Jesus ultimately showed a heart of compassion to address the needs of the crowd. This reminds us that although we need to understand our own needs, sometimes we must make sacrifices to serve those who have deeper needs than we do.

Jesus’ Love for Sinners

Jesus has done many things that surprised us. Who would have thought He would choose an immoral outcast to be His disciple? In the Old Testament, the Lord said to Samuel: “God does not see as a mortal, who sees the appearance. The Lord looks into the heart.” (1 […]

The Cross of the King

Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe34th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Liturgical Year C) On this last Sunday of the liturgical year, the church celebrates the feast of Christ the King, […]

The Grain of Wheat that Falls to the Ground

The grain of wheat that Jesus spoke of in today’s Gospel refers to Himself. Jesus knew that his death would be fruitful beyond all imagining. And being fruitful was more important to Him than being safe or comfortable. But the Lord calls us not just to remember it, but […]
