Pope Francis: Seek God in the most needy, the sick, the hungry, the imprisoned

(CNA/EWTN News) Speaking at a Rome homeless shelter, Pope Francis has said the humility of Jesus Christ’s birth shows that mankind can find God in poverty. The Pope was at the shelter to open a special Holy Door for the homeless during the Year of Mercy. “This is the door of the Lord,” the Pope said December 18 as he opened the Holy Door. “Open the gates of justice. For your great mercy will enter into your house, O Lord.”

The road to Peace, starting this Christmas

At Christmas, Jesus comes down to earth in the night, like a little flame piercing through the darkness. He is the Prince of Peace, coming into the world that so desperately needs Him.

Pope Francis: The Church teaches her sons and daughters to be merciful

(CNA/EWTN News) During his general audience on September 10, Pope Francis continued to reflect on the Church as mother, explaining that she teaches us by example how to go to the essential point of the Gospel, which is mercy. “Like a good mother and educator, she focuses on what is essential; and the essential, according […]

Blinded by Worldly Glory

Jesus said: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier things of the law: judgment and mercy and fidelity. But these you should have done, without neglecting the others. Blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel! “Woe […]

The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus

(本文以英文為準) As the best mirrors represents an image of the face opposite to it, so also is the just judgment of God adapted to our dispositions. Where the rich man because he did not pity the poor as Lazarus lay at his gate, is not heard when he needs mercy for himself. All […]

Selfless Giving

Commentaries on the daily readings by Sacred Space, Just before this, Jesus taught people how they shouldn’t take the place of honour at a wedding feast but as guests they should take the lowest place. Now He moved on to teaching the hosts, that when they hold a […]
