On the 21st Sunday of Ordinary Time (Year A), Fr. Anthony Ho explains to us the story of Jesus’ founding of His Church on Peter, establishing him as the first pope in the Gospel of Matthew. Fr. Anthony clarifies to us that the Catholic Church is based on apostolic succession, and has powers and responsibilities to form Christians as bestowed to her by Jesus. Although the Pope is the leader of the Church, he also has some limits on his power.
