Small Town, Big Mission: Chapel of St. Joseph’s Seminary and St. Lazarus’ Church of Macau

Similar to the Ruins of St. Paul's, the Chapel of St. Joseph's Seminary has been a cradle of missionary formation for over two centuries. St. Lazarus' Church, nicknamed Lepers Temple, used to be the chapel of a lepers' hospice, which developed into a community of Chinese Catholics that put faith and love into practice. Both churches give rise to numerous true stories of evangelization and charity work, reflecting the spectrum of Catholicism from contemplation to action, knowledge to charity.

Tracing the Roots

Montreal Chinese Catholic School was founded in 1957. Among Chinese schools in Montreal, it has the longest history. The Colours of Martyrdom

As part of its 30th-anniversary celebration, the Chinese Martyrs Catholic Church held a joint exhibition featuring faith-inspired artworks of different genres. As Clay in the Potter’s Hands / The Making of a Spiritual Home

Pottery is often seen as a leisure activity, but it is also a way of getting in touch with God. Sr. Helen holds pottery retreats. She sees working with clay as a way of praying and communicating with God.

Chinese Catholic community in Ottawa was founded in 1955. In October 2010, they finally had their own church building. The community celebrated their first mass after being established as a parish. The Fountain of Love and Life crew invited the parishioners to share their joy with our audience.

A Century Old Sheepfold

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church is the first Chinese Catholic parish in Toronto. Throughout its history of over 140 years, it has served Catholics of different ethnic groups. Historical treasures were uncovered during a renovation. The church is restored to its original splendour.
