Body and Blood of Jesus
在今天的福音中，耶穌說祂會升到先前所在的地方去，這也就是說祂是連同肉身升天。耶穌藉此宣告照字面去理解吃喝祂的肉和血是不對的，同時也顯示祂的天主性。
與此同時，祝聖後的餅酒的確是耶穌的肉和血，否則，聖保祿又怎會把不相稱地領聖體聖血的人說成是「吃喝自己的罪案」？
In today's gospel, in saying that He should ascend to where He was before, that is, to heaven whole and complete, Jesus declares the literal understanding that he was going to distribute His body in bloody bits to be wrong and that His true origin is divine. It is truly Jesus' flesh and blood in the consecrated bread and wine we receive at Mass and not merely a symbol or a metaphor. Otherwise, how can St. Paul say we eat and drink our own damnation if we receive Him unworthily unless it is really Jesus our Lord and God?
