Brief description:

Teresa grew up in a grass root family. She studied hotel management when she was in university. After emigrating to Canada, her mother opened a beauty institute. At that time she was already married. Hoping to have babies, she joined her mum’s business in order to have more flexible working hours for her family. It has been almost 28 years now. She always pray that God will give her wisdom to know every step in her life. She feels that Our Lady accompanies her daily, and she thanks God and Our Lady for everything she has. She learned how to pray short verses whole heartedly, which is very useful. You may not get what you want, but God will have other arrangements for you. Through her business, she gets in touch with many people with whom she share her faith, which is good for evangelization.

Brief description:

The Mayor of Turin was convinced that St. John Bosco’s Oratory was inciting revolution. He conferred a meeting of the auditing committee to close the Oratory, although it was more like a trial. There was a lot of disagreement among the politicians but many had already been won over by the mayor. Fortunately, the King of Italy was an admirer of the Oratory and declared it worthy of propagation and protection, thus saving it from closure. But the mayor would not admit defeat and sent policemen to have him watched. The policemen reported back: the Oratory’s children are very orderly and are taught to be good Christians. They are not inciting for revolution, but for a revolution of the heart. Hearing this, the mayor finally realized his errors and promised to no longer obstruct the Oratory’s activities. When asked about funding, John Bosco told him, “I completely rely on God’s Providence.” The mayor was moved and generously donated 200 lira. John Bosco forgave even his enemies and worked for the glory of God.
