QUESTION: I have an older friend from church (over 60 years old), whose son moved in with his girlfriend at home. The friend’s mother (over 80 years old) found it hard to accept and blamed her for not teaching her son well. My friend was caught in the middle and didn’t know what to do. She went for confessions with some priests, but most of them pointed out that she should persuade her son to change, which troubled her even more. Finally, one priest said, “This is a very common thing in this age, don’t worry about it.” The friend was finally relieved. Father Francis, is this really resolved?
