The Extraordinary Vow

To consecrate one’s life through the three evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience, is not a privilege reserved for brothers and sisters of religious congregations. Andrew Lam is a member of Istituto Secolare Cristo Re (Secular Institute of Christ the King). He professed his perpetual vows to consecrate himself in November 2022 in Milan, Italy. Fountain of Grace’s crew was there at Milan to witness this special occasion. Besides capturing Andrew’s immediate reflection after the ceremony, through interviewing Andrew’s family and friends, we have a better understanding of the significance of lay people living a consecrated life.
