Pope Francis: The Church is our Mother
(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis held his weekly General Audience in St Peter's Square on Wednesday, September 11. The Holy Father continued his catechetical reflections on the Church, focusing on the image of the Church as Mother.
Pope Francis said: Like our Mothers, the Church gives us the gift of life. Through the Sacrament of Baptism, we are reborn as children of God and receive his life. While faith is a personal act, we also recognize that faith comes to us through others – our families and communities who teach us how to believe.
