Healing in Body and Soul
那時候，耶穌出了會堂，就同雅各伯和若望來到了西滿和安德肋的家裏。那時，西滿的岳母正躺著發燒，有人就向耶穌提起她來，耶穌上前去，握住她的手，扶她起來，熱症遂即離開了她，她就侍候他們。
到了晚上，日落之後，人把所有患病的和附邪魔的，都帶到他跟前。閤城的人都聚在門前。耶穌治好了許多患各種病症的人，驅逐了許多魔鬼，並且不許魔鬼說話，因為魔鬼認識他。
清晨，天還很黑，耶穌就起身出去，到荒野的地方，在那裏祈禱。西滿和同他在一起的人都去追尋他，找到了他，就向他說：「眾人都找你呢！」耶穌對他們說：「讓我們到別處去，到鄰近的村鎮去吧！好叫我也在那裏宣講，因為我是為這事而來的。」他遂到加里肋亞各地，在他們的會堂裏宣講，並驅逐魔鬼。

Christ Healing the Sick

由於群眾認為在安息日治病有違猶太人的法律，所以他們等到了晚上，才把所有患病和附魔的人帶到耶穌跟前，讓祂醫治。如果把日落比喻為耶穌對人的偉大愛情，那麼確實天越黑，受醫治的人便越多。正如耶穌曾說：「當我在世界上的時候，我是世界的光。」(若9:5)當祂以肉身活著時，祂只能教導和救治一些猶太人；但當祂經歷過在世生命的終結和復活後，祂的臨在卻把信德和救恩傳遍普世。
所有城鎮的人都聚集在耶穌的門前等待祂的醫治；同樣，我們這世代也因為犯了眾多的罪而病了，需要靈性上的救治。能否跨進天國的門，講求人悔改的心和對天主的信德 —— 這二者正是引導我們得到治癒的良方。

On leaving the synagogue Jesus entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John. Simon's mother-in-law lay sick with a fever. They immediately told him about her. He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up. Then the fever left her and she waited on them.
When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by demons. The whole town was gathered at the door. He cured many who were sick with various diseases, and he drove out many demons, not permitting them to speak because they knew him.
Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed. Simon and those who were with him pursued him and on finding him said, “Everyone is looking for you.” He told them, “Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose have I come.” So he went into their synagogues, preaching and driving out demons throughout the whole of Galilee.
Mark 1:29-39
Because the multitude thought that it was not lawful to heal on the sabbath day, they waited for the evening, to bring those who were to be healed to Jesus. In a mystical sense, the setting of the sun signifies Jesus' passion, who had said, "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." And when the sun was setting, more demoniacs and sick persons were healed than before: because He who living in the flesh for a time taught a few Jews, has transmitted the gifts of faith and health to all the Gentiles throughout the world at the end of His earthly life. There follows, "and he healed many that were vexed with divers diseases."
Just as all in the city gathered at Jesus' door for healing, the door of the kingdom is repentance and faith, which is medicine for various spiritual diseases; for the sins are many, with which the city of this world is sick.
