In today's first reading, the apostles went to the upper room and prayed together with Mary. During this period when Jesus had ascended but the Holy Spirit had not yet come, they were united in prayers. Let us ask ourselves honestly: do we really believe in the power of prayers? If we really believe, why didn't we devote more of our time in prayers?
Mother Mary had experienced so much suffering. She even stood at the foot of the cross, watching her beloved Son suffering the unbearable pain. Mary kept all these things in her heart and pondered. That was her way of praying.
The Saturday before the second Sunday in May is the feast day of Our Lady of China. Let us pray for the Church in China.
