葡萄園的比喻

馬爾谷福音 12:1-12 匠人棄而不用的石頭,反而成了屋角的基石。教會是屋角,把猶太人和外邦人聚集在一起;這屋角是天主的作為,在信眾的眼中神妙莫測;為沒有信德的人,奇蹟卻引來責難。教會的確是奇妙的,她建基在奇蹟之上,天主與宗徒配合,用神蹟為他們的話作見證。「那是上主的所作所為,在我們眼中神妙莫測」就是這樣的意思。 那些司祭長證明了耶穌所說的話是真的,「他們明白這比喻是指他們說的,就想逮捕耶穌;這是繼承人」天父將為祂不公義的死復仇。以一個道德的層面來看,每一位信眾在接受聖洗聖事時,都租了一個葡萄園,他們都該栽種。但當園主派去的僕人被毆打、驅趕,當聖言受到鄙視、褻瀆,甚至連天主的兒子也被踏在腳下。 邪惡的園戶將被除滅,園主將葡萄園另租給別人,謙卑的人將被賜予那被驕傲人輕蔑的恩寵。 (本文以英文為準) Mark 12:1-12 The stone then which the builders rejected, has become the cornerstone of the Church. In a moral sense, each of the faithful, when the Sacrament of Baptism is entrusted to him, receives a vineyard on loan, which he is to cultivate. But the servant sent to him is mistreated, beaten, and cast out, when the word is heard by him and despised, or, what is worse, even blasphemed; further, he kills, as far as in him lies, the heir, who has trampled under foot the Son of God. 基督聖體聖血節(節日)- 路加福音 9:11-17 在荒野地方,群眾聽耶穌教導,轉眼天快要黑,門徒向耶穌提議不如遣散群眾,讓他們到外投宿覓食。他們一定沒有想過耶穌會反過來向他們說:「你們給他們食物吧!」單憑門徒手上的五塊餅兩條魚,如何令數千人吃飽?耶穌吩附門徒叫眾人分組坐下,約五十人一組。門徒聽從,耶穌拿起五餅二魚,望天,祝福了,擘開。門徒把食物擺在群眾前,他們竟然就吃飽了。 在耶穌顯奇蹟以前,門徒不知道祂的計劃,但他們都相信祂,跟從祂所吩附的去做。耶穌建立聖體聖事,我們肉眼看到的只是餅和酒,但因著耶穌在最後晚餐所說的話,以及聖神藉著神父的祝聖,我們相信這的確是耶穌的體血。如聖多默●亞奎那所言:「五官之力有所不及,應由信德來補充」。 The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ – Luke 9:11-17 The crowd listened to Jesus’ teaching in a deserted place. It was close to evening. The disciples suggested to Jesus that He should dismiss the crowd so that they could go to look for lodging and provisions. They would never have thought that Jesus would say to them: “Give them some food yourselves.” With the five loaves and two fish that the disciple had, how could they possibly feed thousands of people? Jesus asked them to sit down in groups of about fifty. The disciples followed. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, blessed over them, broke them. The disciples set them before the crowd. They all ate and were satsified. Before the miracle, the disciples knew nothing about Jesus’ plan. But they believed Him, and obeyed Him. Jesus established the Sacrament of Eucharist. With our eyes, we could only see bread and wine, but by the words Jesus spoke at the Last Supper, and the power bestowed upon the priest at the consecration by the Holy Spirit, we believe in the body and blood of Christ. As St. Thomas Aquinas said: “Faith will tell us Christ is present,: When our human senses fail”.

When they add also, “Who gave you this authority”, they evidently deny that He is the Son of God, since they believe that He works miracles, not by His own but by another’s power. 【聖母訪親(慶日)﹣ 路加福音1:39-56】 聖母瑪利亞在獲報喜訊後幾日便動身去探訪依撒伯爾。她要走的路程一點也不短。她去探訪她的表姊,大概是想跟她分享發生在她身上,旁人不可能明白的事。 聖母和依撒伯爾兩人同因天主的大能而受孕。她們一個年輕,不清楚未來會是怎樣;另一位年邁時蒙天主應允,賜給她一位兒子。她們兩人都因聖神充滿著喜悅。在卑微的人身上,天主越發顯出祂的大能。 【Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary ﹣ Luke 1:39-56】 A few days of the Annunication, Mary set out and travelled in haste to visit Elizabeth. She had to go a long way. She went to visit her cousin probably because she wanted to share what had happened to her, matters that others will not be able to understand. Mary and Elizabeth both got pregnant due to God’s might. One of them is young, uncertain about her future; the other got granted a son by God in her late years. They were both filled with joy by the Holy Spirit. God’s power is manifested to the lowly and the humble.

可憐我吧

教宗方濟各: 求勝心切妨礙基督徒

誰想成為最大的

馬爾谷福音 10:32-45 耶穌告訴門徒將要發生在祂身上的事後,雅各伯和若望走到耶穌跟前,不是關心祂將要受的苦,而是希望可以在祂的光榮中「分一杯羹」。雅各伯和若望只看到耶穌要受光榮,卻完全忘記了祂先要經歷苦辱和死亡。磨難使人謙卑,謙卑的人卻要被高舉。十字架是必須的磨練。 耶穌提醒眾門徒不要像外邦人一樣,作首領的不要主宰別人,卻要作眾人的僕役。如果以世俗的眼光看,作首領若反過來要服侍別人,那又有什麼好羨慕?他們不明白謙卑的人透過服務人去愛天主,即使仍在世上,天主自會賜給這些人喜樂和平安。 Mark 10:32-45 After hearing from Jesus what was going to happen to Him, James and John came to Jesus. They were not there out of concern for the suffering He had to endure, but to ask Him for sharing His glory with them. All that James and John saw was glory, they totally forgot that He had to first go through humiliation and death. Tribulation leads people to humility, and one who humbles himself will be exalted. The cross is inevitable. Jesus reminded His disciples not to follow the examples of the Gentiles, that whoever wishes to be the greatest should not lord over people, but to be the servant of all. Seeing it from the world’s perspective, why is being the greatest desirable, if one has to be the servant of all? They miss the point that those who are humble love God through their service to others. God will reward these people with joy and peace, even when they are still on earth.

教宗方濟各: 跟隨耶穌不是「事業」

But while Peter asks only concerning the disciples, our Lord makes a general answer; “Jesus answered and said, “Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands”. But in saying this, He does not mean that we should leave our fathers, without helping them, or that we should separate ourselves from our wives; but He instructs us to prefer the glory of God to the things of this world. But He seems here to intimate also the persecutions. For since there were many instances both of fathers urging their sons to ungodliness, and wives their husbands; when they command these things, says Jesus, let them be neither wives nor parents, even as Paul likewise said, “But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart.” See also how this is the case […]

Jesus asked a young man to give all his riches to the poor and then to follow him. But when the young man heard this, he went away sad. Pope Francis’ homily found inspiration in the well-known episode narrated in the Gospel, and he underlined that “riches are an impediment” that “do not facilitate our journey towards the Kingdom of God”. And he pointed out: “Each and every one of us has riches”. There is always, he said, a richness that “stops us from getting close to Jesus”. We must all, he continued, examine our conscience and pinpoint our riches because they stop us from getting close to Jesus on the path of life”. 跟隨祂

馬爾谷福音 10:17-27 耶穌喜愛那些遵守天主誡命的人,出於祂對那富少年的愛,祂進一步邀請他變賣他的所有去跟隨祂。耶穌因為愛世人的緣故,甘願成為一個貧窮的人。祂在世時經常與病人、罪人和不為社會接受的人來往。如果我們要跟隨這位師傅,就得走同樣的路。擁有很多財富的人沒有罪,如果他能好好利用那些財產,不依戀金錢,是完全沒有問題的。 富有與否,耶穌都要求門徒背著十字架跟隨祂。天父給我們的十字架,一定是我們能負擔的。不要害怕它,它是領我們到天國的道路。 生命恩泉曾採訪過一位渡獻身生活的青年,他曾自覺是那位富少年。大家可按此收看他的故事。 Mark 10:17-27 Jesus loves those who follow God’s commandments. Out of love, Jesus invited the rich young man to sell what he had and follow Him. Out of love for mankind, Jesus became a poor person. When He was still on earth, He was often with the sick, the sinners, and those who were marginalized by the society. If we are to follow this teacher, we would have to walk the same path. Those who are wealthy commit no sin, as long as he/she makes good used of those weath entrusted to them. Whether we are rich or not, Jesus asked His followers to pick up their crosses. The cross chosen for us by God must be light enough for us to bear. Do not be afraid of the cross, it is the road that leads us to heaven.

天主聖三節

若望福音 16:12-15 那時,宗徒仍然未得知他們因耶穌的名而要承擔的一切。耶穌把更大的事,那些在祂被釘十字架以前,他們不能明白的事,留待遲一點才啟示給他們。他們仍然活在舊約律法之下,未能承受律法所指向的真理。但當聖神降臨,祂會依循祂的教導和訓誡把他們領到所有真理,把他們由死的法律條文帶到活潑的聖神那裡去,只有聖神內存有所有的聖經真理。 耶穌這樣說:「聖神『不憑自己講論』,祂不會不顧祂自己、聖子和聖父的旨意:因為祂不是出自自己,而是由聖父和我而來。祂存在,祂也講論,祂由聖父和我所共發。我講論真理,我啟示給人,也因聖神宣講,因為祂是真理之神。」 聖父發言,聖子聆聽,這是一個表達祂的身份和一致的方式。聖神,那真理和智慧之神,不會從聖子聽到任何祂不知道的事,因為祂由聖子而來。 天主聖三不能靠我們自己理解,而要藉著天主聖三灌輸祂的旨意在信徒的心,才能聽懂。 (本文以英文為準)

向小孩子學習

馬爾谷福音 10:13-16 成年人認為小孩子幼稚,不懂世情;耶穌卻偏偏叫我們要像孩子一樣去接受天主的國。耶穌要我們跟孩子學習。他們更懂得相信人,因為他們知道自己的不足;他們心地純潔,不會機關算盡。只有像孩子一樣,不在乎的別人的想法,專心一致,才能接受天主。耶穌樂於親近孩子,就讓我們向他們學習吧! Mark 10:13-16 Adults think children are naive and think they know nothing. But Jesus asked us to “accept the Kingdom of God like a child”. Jesus asked us to learn from children. They are more able to trust, since they are aware of their shortcomings. Their hearts are pure. Only when we act like a child, and do not care about how others might think of us, we can accept God. Jesus loves to be with children, let us learn from them!

教宗: 以忍耐面對痛苦,以愛去戰勝一切

教宗方濟各在週五(紀念聖母進教之佑)的彌撒講道中祈求兩個恩寵:以忍耐去面對痛苦和以愛去戰勝一切。 他說:「受苦就是用力承受困難,不讓困難拖垮我們——這是基督徒的美德。聖保祿曾多次說:忍耐。這就是說不要讓困難壓倒我們。…在困難中,我們一定要祈求這個恩寵。」 教宗提及的另一個恩寵是以愛去戰勝一切。 「要爭取勝利有很多方法,但我們今天求的是以愛去取得勝利。這是不容易的。當我們有外在的敵人令我們受這麼多苦,要以愛得勝毫不容易。我們會渴望報復。…愛,這份耶穌教我們的和善,這就是勝利!…我們的信仰正是這點:我們相信那位教我們和所有人相愛的耶穌。為我們的敵人祈禱就是我們愛的憑據。」 要為敵人祈禱不容易,但如果我們不寬恕敵人,不為他們祈禱,我們就是「被擊敗的基督徒」。 「我們向聖母祈求以忍耐去承受痛苦和以愛去戰勝一切的恩寵。有這麼多人走了這道路!他們那份平安,那份喜樂。他們有一顆忍耐的心,一顆充滿愛的心。他們知道何謂寬恕敵人,何謂為敵人祈禱。」 身為萬民福音部秘書長的韓大輝總主教和一些從中國來的神父和教友都有參與彌撒。在信友禱文完結時,教宗為中國人民祈禱。彌撒以一首中文的聖母聖歌完結。 “To suffer with patience and to overcome external and internal oppression with love.” That was the prayer of Pope Francis today at the Domus Sanctae Martae during Mass on the feast of Mary Help of Christians. In his homily, Pope Francis requested two graces: “To endure with patience and to overcome with love.” These are “graces proper to a Christian.” “To suffer with patience,” he notes, “is not easy.” “It is not easy, whether the difficulties come from without, or are problems within the heart, the soul, internal problems.” But to suffer, he explained, is not simply to “bear with a difficulty.”: “To suffer is to take the difficulty and to carry it with strength, so that the difficulty does not drag us down. To carry it with strength: this is a Christian virtue. Saint Paul says several times: Suffer [endure]. This means do not let ourselves be overcome by difficulties. This means that the Christian has the strength not to give up, to carry difficulties with strength. Carry them, but carry them with strength. It is not easy, because discouragement comes, and one has the urge to give up and say, ‘Well, come on, we’ll do what we can but no more.’ But no, it is a grace to suffer. 聖母進教之佑

聖母進教之佑 特別為中國教會祈禱 – 若望福音 2:1-11 在加納婚宴把水變成酒的奇蹟,跟其他奇蹟很不同。耶穌多次把人治癒,令瞎子復明,祂若不行這些奇蹟,那些人便要繼續受苦。雖然在婚宴上沒有為賓客預備足夠的酒,確實會令主人蒙羞,但即使耶穌沒有把水變成酒,後果也算不上很嚴重。聖母告訴祂酒不夠之後,耶穌本來沒打算行奇蹟,也因為聖母的轉告而改變初衷。 聖母就是這樣留意她子女的需要,默默為我們轉求。讓我們也效法聖母,只簡單的向天主訴說我們的需要,由祂決定在祂選擇的時候,以祂的方式回應我們的祈禱。進教之佑,為我等祈。 Blessed Virgin Mary, Help of Christians – World Day of Prayer for China – John 2:1-11 The miracle at Cana is quite different from the other miracles that Jesus performed. Jesus had healed many people. He restored the vision of the blind. If He chose not to perform these miracles, many people would have to continue with their suffering. Not having enough wine in a wedding would be embarrassing, but even without Jesus’ intervention, the consequences would not be as bad. After Mary told Jesus that there was not enough wine, even though Jesus did not intend to perform any miracle, He changed His mind because of His mother’s words. Mother Mary is so attentive to her children’s needs. She intercedes for us always. Let us learn from her. We should simply tell God our needs, and let Him decide the best time and the best way for Him to respond to our prayers. Mary Help of Christians, pray for us.

棄絕罪惡

馬爾谷福音 9:41-50 在今天的福音中,耶穌說誰若令信他的人跌倒,倒不如把這人投在海裡。對耶穌來說,每一個人的得救是最重要的,因此祂才會如此形容所有引誘他人犯罪的人。如果我們的肢體令我們犯罪,祂寧願我們放棄那肢體,也不要犯罪, 耶穌也形容了地獄裡可怕的情況:「那裏的蟲子不死,火也不滅」。地獄最可怕的是永遠與天主隔絕。天主是一切美善的根源,試想想跟所有美好的事物隔絕,這就是地獄。讓我們竭盡所能棄絕罪惡。 Mark 9:41-50 In today’s gospel, Jesus said whoever causes someone who believes in Him to sin, it would be better for him if he were thrown into the sea. To Jesus, the salvation for each and every one of us is of utmost importance. This is why he would describe a person who causes another to sin. Even if one of our limbs causes us to sin, Jesus would rather we have it cut off than to sin. Jesus also described the horrendous conditions in hell: “their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched”. The worst part of hell is to be eternally separated from God, who is the source of all goodness. Try imagine being separated from all things good. That is hell. Let us try our best to abandon our sins.

教宗呼籲所有天主教徒在本週五為中國教會祈禱

在天主的仁慈內團結

馬爾谷福音 9:38-40 那個以耶穌的名驅魔的人不屬於門徒團體,卻沒有跟他們「劃清界線」。他的立場就像那些未接受入門聖事,但卻十分支持基督徒的人。耶穌指出這些人「決不會失掉他的賞報」。但這並不代表他們可因善待基督徒而自以為「安全」,他們的罪污尚未經洗禮潔淨,也未和基督妙身結合。值得留意的是他們現在被天主的仁慈指引著,未來可能會接受天主,遠離俗世。 這些人甚至比一些經已背負著基督徒身份、已領受聖事的人更為可靠。 我們要注意,當我們做好事的時候,也要避免冒犯近人,以致他們輕視我們的工作;假若有障礙阻攔真理的傳揚,我們寧願冒犯別人,也不要背棄真理。 (本文以英文為準)

做眾人的僕役

馬爾谷福音 9:30-37 耶穌跟門徒說祂將要受苦、被殺,門徒不明白,也不敢問祂,反而爭論他們中間誰最大。我們就像那些門徒一樣,最在乎別人如何看我們,不希望成為最末的那位,這比一切都重要。作為基督徒,耶穌給予我們一種與世界截然不同的價值觀,世界說最大的那位有權勢、地位,唯人馬首是瞻;耶穌卻說要做最大的就要做眾人的僕役。活在世界上,很容易被俗世同化,願我們跟隨耶穌的榜樣,甘於服務,甘於成為僕役。 Mark 9:30-37 Jesus was telling His disciples that He would suffer and be killed. The disciples did not understand and were afraid to ask Him, instead, they discussed who was the greatest among themselves. We are just like the disciples. We care a lot about how others see us, hoping we would not be considered the the least. That is the most important. As Christians, Jesus preaches a completely different worldview. The world says the greatest one has power, and everyone would follow his lead; but Jesus says the greatest one has to be the servant of all. Living in this world, it is easy to be influenced by the world. Let us follow Jesus’ example, be willing to serve and be the servant of all.

祈禱和禁食

馬爾谷福音 9:14-29 耶穌在教導宗徒們怎樣逐出最頑固的魔鬼的同時,也給了我們所有人一些指引;祂想我們知道魔鬼對人的襲擊愈嚴重,就愈要靠祈禱和禁食才能戰勝牠;當天主的憤怒因我們的罪被燃點起來,只有祈禱和禁食才能平息。禁食不單指節制飲食,也包括其他肉體上的享受,戒絕令我們墮落的慾念。祈禱也不單指我們口中呼求天主慈悲的言語,也包括所有因為對天主的信德和服從而做的事,就像聖保祿所說的:「不斷祈禱」。 Mark 9:14-29 Our Lord, while teaching the Apostles how the worst devil is to be expelled, gives all of us rules for our life; that is, He would have us know that all the more grievous attacks of evil spirits or of men are to be overcome by fastings and prayers; and again, that the anger of the Lord, when it is kindled for vengeance on our crimes, can be appeased by this remedy alone. But fasting in general is not only abstinence from food, but also from all carnal delights, yes, from all vicious passions. In like manner prayer taken generally, consists not only in the words by which we call upon the Divine mercy, but also in all those things which we do with the devotedness of faith in obedience to our Maker, as St. Paul testifies, when he says: “Pray without ceasing”. 教宗: 聖神的工作 – 更新、和諧和使命

教宗在五旬節主日的彌撒講道中用以下三方面反省聖神的工作:更新、和諧和使命。 1. 新的事物總是令我們有些擔心,如果我們能控制一切,我們根據我們的喜好和意念,去建立、策劃一切,我們會比較有安全感。我們跟隨天主,接受天主,只去到一個程度。我們很難把自己以完全的信賴交托給天主,讓聖神指引我們生活中的每一個決定。我們害怕天主強迫我們走新的路,要我們放棄我們狹窄、封閉的視野而對祂開放。但在救恩史中,天主每逢顯示給人,就要他們改變,完全的相信祂: 諾厄要建方舟,被人恥笑;亞巴郎要因為一個承諾而離開自己的地方;梅瑟抵抗法郎領自己的民族出埃及;宗徒們由害怕到勇敢的傳福音。這不是為求新而求新,或去找尋新的東西令我們不沉悶。天主的更新帶給我們生命真正的喜樂,真正的平安,因為天主愛我們,只想我們好。讓我們問自己,我們害怕天主的驚喜嗎? 2. 聖神因為帶來多元化的神恩,有時看來為教會製造混亂;但祂是合一的神,不等於單調和一元的,而把一切領到和諧。在教會,聖神製造和諧。只有聖神能在激起多樣化的神恩,而又帶來團結。當人們嘗試製造多元價值,帶來的是分裂。當我們根據人的計劃去製造團結,帶來的卻是有如被複製般的劃一。但如果我們讓聖神帶領,大家的不同卻不會變成紛爭,因為祂令我們在教會的共融體驗大家的不同。在充滿神恩的牧者的帶領下與教會一同走在旅途上,是聖神在工作的標記。 3. 最後,一些神學家說我們的靈魂就像一艘帆船,聖神就是風,令它向前,那陣陣的風是聖神的恩賜。沒有祂的推動和恩寵,我們不能前進。五旬節聖神降臨是一個開始。聖神是復活基督賜給宗徒一份極大的禮物,但祂想這禮物能傳給每一個人。耶穌在福音說:「我也要求父,他必會賜給你們另一位護慰者,使他永遠與你們同在」(若望福音14:16)。聖神給我們勇氣把福音向外傳揚!讓我們問自己:我們寧願封閉自己和我們的團體,還是向聖神開放,接受這份使命? In the Mass for the Feast of the Pentecost, Pope Francis reflected on three words linked to the working of the Holy Spirit: newness, harmony and mission. 1. Newness always makes us a bit fearful, because we feel more secure if we have everything under control, if we are the ones who build, programme and plan our lives in accordance with our own ideas, our own comfort, our own preferences. This is also the case when it comes to God. Often we follow him, we accept him, but only up to a certain point. It is hard to abandon ourselves to him with complete trust, allowing the Holy Spirit to be the soul and guide of our lives in our every decision. We fear that God may force us to strike out on new paths and leave behind our all too narrow, closed and selfish horizons in order to become open to his own. 你願意被祂改造嗎?

五旬節主日(節日) – 宗徒大事錄 2:1-11 今天的讀經一講述在五旬節,聖神降臨在門徒身上:「好像暴風颳來,充滿了他們所在的全座房屋。有些散開好像火的舌頭,停留在他們每人頭上」。聖神以火的形態出現,祂煉淨我們,把我們的罪燒毀掉。在這個被淨化的過程中,我們可能會感到痛苦,但這是必須的預備。 聖神的火舌停留在門徒的頭上,舌頭的影像是反映聖神幫助他們宣講、作見證。眾人聽到他們說著自己的方言,因為聖神不單協助門徒,也開啟了眾人的耳朵,把本來聽不明白的,翻譯成他們聽得懂的語言。門徒不靠自己的能力,他們只讓聖神在身上工作已足夠。 聖神透過改造基督徒來更新大地的面貌,你願意被祂改造嗎? Pentecost Sunday – Acts 2:1-11 Today’s first reading describes how the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples: “And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them.” The Holy Spirit appeared as fire, which refines us by burning away our sins and purifying us. This process of purification might be painful, but it is necessary to prepare us. The tongues of fire rested on the disciples. The reference to tongues shows that the Holy Spirit moved them to speak and witness. The crowd heard their own languages, because the Holy Spirit did not just help the disciples, He also opened the ears of the crowd, and translated what they would not understand into something they could comprehend. The disciples did not rely on their capability, they only allowed themselves to be used by the Holy Spirit. Through transforming Christians, the Holy Spirit renews the face of the earth. Are you willing to be transformed?

過分好奇

若望福音 21:20-25 伯多祿轉過身,看見耶穌所愛的那個門徒跟著,即是在晚餐時靠耶穌胸膛那位。若望提及靠在耶穌胸膛那細節是有原因的,是要顯示出伯多祿在不認耶穌以後信心增強了。伯多祿在晚餐時不敢問耶穌誰會出賣祂,而把問題交由若望發問;他之前把他所關心的問題交給他人發問,現在他有問題便直接問耶穌。 耶穌在預言伯多祿會做的大事,把信眾交給他,預告他的殉道,讓他知道自己有多愛他以後,伯多祿想若望也能分擔同一召叫,他問:「主,他怎樣?」好像在說「他會否和我們走同樣的道路?」這是因為伯多祿很關心若望,由福音和宗徒大事錄可見到他們的友誼有多深。 伯多祿今次反過來替若望問耶穌,以為若望也想問這問題,心裡卻害怕,伯多祿代他問。然而他們現在已身兼重任,如果堅持要一起恐怕難以達成他們的使命。耶穌說:「我若要他留著,直到我來,和你有什麼關繫?」,彷彿在說「只專注做我交給你的工作:如果我要他活到我第二次再來,你為什麼要管?」耶穌用這些說話教我們不要不耐煩,或過分好奇。祂說這話是因為伯多祿為人激動,會問這樣的問題,耶穌教他冷靜,不要問太多。 若望是寫福音的最後兩位,耶穌基督感動他做這件工作;在這敘述中,他暗示了驅使他寫福音的原因。因此他一再提及這事,令他的記錄更為可信。 (本文以英文為準)
